VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Convention and Visitor Board
The City of Guthrie is seeking applicants for a volunteer to serve on the Guthrie Convention and Visitor Board. The Convention and Visitor Board will give direction to and recommendations of activities of the Guthrie Tourism Department, which is established to promote general interest in and for the City of Guthrie, to improve conditions of all types of businesses in and around Guthrie by increasing visitors and tourism in Guthrie; and to promote Guthrie as a meeting place and overnight visitor destination.

The Convention and Visitor Board will meet on a monthly basis to provide direction and conduct business activities pertaining to the visitors and tourism for the Guthrie area. The Guthrie Convention and Visitor Board will consist of seven (7) members chosen by the City Council, three (3) members nominated by each ward and four at-large members. Board members must be Guthrie residents for at least one year. One position is available to fill an unexpired At-Large term ending September 2018.

Forestry Advisory Board Volunteer

The City of Guthrie is requesting applications for persons interested in volunteering to serve on the Forestry Advisory Board.  All Board and Commission appointments require residency within the City of Guthrie. This volunteer will be appointed at-large by the Mayor with approval of the City Council.
The Forestry Advisory Board serves in an advisory capacity to the City Council on issues regarding the City's development of a community forestry plan and improvement of the urban forest resources within the City. Applicants are chosen based on interest and/or expertise in urban forestry. The Board meets bi-monthly.

Applications are available in the City Manager's office, 3rd floor of City Hall, 101 N. Second St., Guthrie, Oklahoma.

Board of Adjustments

The City of Guthrie is requesting applications for persons interested in volunteering to serve on the Board of Adjustment. For consideration, applicants must reside within the City of Guthrie; the position will be appointed at-large by the Mayor with approval of the City Council. The Board of Adjustment will review appeals in the enforcement of the zoning ordinance. Applications are available in the Planning Department, 2nd floor, City Hall, 101 N. 2nd St.

Historic Preservation Commission Volunteer

Application period closes Oct 01, 2018, or until filled.Applications will be reviewed as needed. 

The City of Guthrie is requesting applications for persons interested in volunteering to serve on the Guthrie Historic Preservation Commission. These positions will be appointed at-large by the Mayor through approval of the City Council. Qualified applicants must be residents of Guthrie. Applicants also must be a member of the Logan County Historical Society or a member of the Logan County Historical Society. One position is available. Applications are available at or may be printed and turned in to the Planning/Community and Economic Development Department, 2nd floor of City Hall, 101 N. 2nd St., Guthrie.

Park Board Volunteer

The City of Guthrie is requesting applications for persons interested in volunteering to serve as a member of the Guthrie Park Board. The purpose of the Park Board is to serve in an advisory capacity to the City Council on matters pertaining to the Guthrie City Parks and Recreational areas. The Park Board is a 5-member board who serve 2-year staggered terms, and is appointed by the Mayor. Board members must reside within the Guthrie City Limits and have lived in Guthrie at least one year.  The Park Board meets bi-monthly at Guthrie City Hall; meeting information can be found here
