Volunteers Needed to Serve on City Boards

The City of Guthrie has several boards and commissions comprised of dedicated volunteers who advise the City Council on a variety of matters. The City is currently accepting applications for openings or pending openings on the following boards:

Convention and Visitor Board – The Convention and Visitor Board advises the Guthrie Tourism Department on matters pertaining to tourism with the purpose of promoting general interest in and for the City of Guthrie, improving conditions of all types of businesses in and around Guthrie by increasing visitors and tourism in Guthrie, and promoting Guthrie as a meeting place and overnight visitor destination. The Convention and Visitor Bureau Board meets the 3rd Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. For requirements and an application, click here.

Forestry Advisory Board – The Forestry Advisory Board advises City Council on issues regarding the development of a community forestry plan and improvement of the urban forest resources within the City. The Forestry Advisory Board meetings are held bimonthly on the 4th Tuesday at 6:30 pm. For requirements and an application, click here.

Planning Commission – The Planning Commission reviews land use and long-range planning issues. Community Development staff work closely with the Planning Commission to ensure that the requirements defined in the Guthrie Comprehensive Plan are executed when reviewing applications for rezoning, platting, and special use applications. The Planning Commission meets the second Thursday of each month. For requirements and an application, click here.
